Not able to use the basket weeder because your soil is too hard or rocky? Spyder baskets can replace standard basket wires on the front axle of a basket weeder for better penetration and strength in soils that tend to crust or have more rocks. Use on a basket weeder frame you already have or purchase a new one.

Ability:
  • Break hard crust, or clay soils
  • Disturb and kill thread stage weeds without throwing soil onto small crops
  • Add weight for more aggressive cultivation

Assembly Tips:
  • Orient the spyder teeth facing up in the front to shed organic material
  • Wear protective gloves and sleeves when handling sharp edges
  • Build set-up from the inside out on the axle
  • Alternate axle holes to evenly distribute weight

Frame Size

The 60 inch Basket Weeder frame is constructed of two side plates, one center support, two stainless steel hex shafts, and a set of sprockets and chains on each end (2). The side plates may be adjusted infinitely along the length of the hex shafts and are typically set to match the width of the seedbed.

The 80 inch Basket Weeder frame is constructed of two side plates, one center support plate, two stainless steel hex shafts, and a set of sprockets and chains on each end (2). The side plates may be adjusted infinitely along the length of the hex shafts and are typically set to match the width of the seedbed.

For mounting on a 2-1/4" Diamond tool bar. Slotted holes allow tilt adjustment for tractors without top links.

Standard Baskets - Back Axle

Tilmor basket wires are made of ¼” zinc-plated spring steel in widths of 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 inches. Configure the Basket Weeder to meet your specific needs or Contact Us for assistance:

  1. Select the basket width to match the crop row width less the desired clearance (ex.: a 13 inch crop row minus 3 inches of clearance on each side of the basket requires a 7 inch basket).
    Note: There must be a front and rear basket, so two 7 inch baskets should be added.
  2. Select the number of baskets needed to work both sides of each row (ex.: number of rows + 1 = number of baskets pairs. 3 rows requires a total of 8 baskets).
